Schönbrunn Zoo

Did you know that the oldest zoo of the world is still in operation and is located in Vienna? Schönbrunn Zoo, known as “Tiergarten Schönbrunn” was established in the park of the Schönbrunn Palace in 1752. This zoo houses more than 700 animal species. From butterflies to jelly fish or from penguins to giant pandas, you can find them all. If you visit the Schönbrunn Palace, do visit the Schönbrunn zoo.

The Hundertwasser house in Vienna is a colourful piece of art by architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Hundertwasser house is one of the most visited places of Vienna. Right opposite to the house is the Hundertwasser village which was redesigned from a tyre factory by him.
St. Stephen’s Cathedral

St. Stephens Cathedral is one of the most popular buildings in Vienna. The Cathedral building is 107.2 meters long. The Cathedral construction commenced in the 12th century. 13 bells hang in this Gothic structure.
St. Charles’ Church

St. Charles’ Church, known as Karlskirche, is one of the most important Baroque structures in Vienna. The church is dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo. Prater

Prater is a large public park in Vienna. It is located in the Leopoldstadt. Located in the Vienna Prater is a Giant Ferris Wheel which is one of the most famous symbols of Vienna. Gasometer

The gasometers in the Simmering district of Vienna were built in the 18th century. The tanks were used for gas storage. The gasometers were reinvented in the 19th century by 4 architects. Today, a mall, music hall, theatre, offices, restaurants etc. are set up in the four former gasholder houses in the district. Gasometer also has a metro station.
Danube Island

Danube island is one of the favourite recreational regions of Vienna. It is a 21 kilometre long island stretch where one can hike, jog, cycle or skate on the trails. There are also flat beaches and other water sport activities which can be enjoyed on the island banks or the waters. If you love trampolines, the world’s biggest trampoline park is on the Danube island. It has over 40 jumping areas.
